The 1st Annual Mickey Mantle Classic was held on April 15, 2000

Welcome to the Mickey Mantle Wooden Bat Classic!  Commerce High School in Commerce Oklahoma held a dedication ceremony in April 2001 naming its high school baseball field after its most celebrated graduate, Mickey Mantle Field.  That day sparked an annual high school baseball tournament, the Mickey Mantle Classic.  Since that time the Mickey Mantle Classic has never looked back.  The Mickey Mantle Classic is played with wooden bats, just the way the Commerce Comet played the game.

    The Mickey Mantle Classic has gained national attention, has seen its article’s in the archives of the Baseball Hall of Fame, featured many former baseball greats, and hall of fame mebers as guests hosted a Mickey Mantle exhibit worth over $250,000, and has been featured on ESPN.  Fans from Texas to Minnesota have enjoyed the atmosphere created by the Mickey Mantle Classic.
